Enduro bikes are the offroad motorcycles that BMW invented for outdoor enthusiasts. The F650 GS sells for $7500 and is great for street or off-road riding. The F 650 GS Dakar is named after its performance in the exhausting Paris-Dakar rally. This model has the look of a dirt bike and retails for $8200.
The HP 2 Enduro is both lightweight and has race suspension for the ultimate performance levels ($19900). At $14700, the R 1200 GS has the style you would expect from BMW along with power from an updated boxer engine.
One step up is the R 1200 GS Adventure with “a taller windshield, adjustable seat, extra wide footpegs, rugged 8.7 gallon tank and engine guards, and optional ABS”. The design of this motorcycle is both durable and lightweight which is the perfect combination for off-road riders.
IF you want something that is only for street purposes, look no further than the K 1200 S with lots of power and handling that it should be meant for track racing. Going 0-60 in 2.8 seconds the engine displacement is 1157 cc’s with over 160 HP.
Many of the parts on the K 1200 S are produced for track racing machines which makes this street legal motorcycle a beast. The R 1200 S has the 2 cylinder Boxer engine and suspension to match. at $14700, it will be available in stores June, 2006.
