BMW has created a car that they say will lead them to their first victory for the next season in Formula One. “We want to win our first race next year. The big progress this year shows us that the direction in our development and the work we are doing is right. The motivation is high,” said BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen.

Theissen went on to say that this brand new model – which will be unveiled January 14th – has been dubbed the F1.08. They have decided to unveil the show in Munich – the hometown of BMW.

Last season was a near win in the constructors standings when they came in second place just behind Ferrari. Nick Heidfeld of Germany and Robert Kubica were fifth and sixth, in the drivers standings. Heidfeld did manag two podium finishes.

“Nick and Robert impressed on and off the race track. That’s why we will continue driving with them,” said Theissen. The car has been in development since early May. After they failed to win last season, BMW understood that they needed to create a much more powerful car. They are confident that the new F1.08 will give them the victory they want.
