BMW MINIThe BMW MINI Crossover and X1 Concept will be making their way to production. Norbert Reithofer - BMW CEO - stated that the company is confident that both models will do well despite the economic and fuel problems facing consumers in the U.S.

However, they will be killing off the X7 because is does not have the ability to “generate sufficient growth”. The car was scheduled to be released in 2013. The MINI is now scheduled to the market in 2010 and the X1 will make its way to our shores in late 2011. Reithofer believes that even though the X6 is a current front runner in the market the X1 will take over and become a mainstream player.

BMW X1 ConceptWhen it comes to the BMW X1 concept we have to admit that we are not at all impressed and it seems that many people feel the same way. The elongated hood is not customary to the BMW design that we know and love. The CUV has been designed with very odd proportions due to the fact that it is so small.

The front end of the concept car is equipped with a large nose that can be found on the 7-Series. If you examine it even closer you’ll notice that it is very similar to the X3 in terms of size and purpose.

BMW Electric City CarR&D is producing and selling fuel efficient city cars all over the world in order to keep up with the raise in gas prices. BMW itself is also planning on doing this exact same thing . BMW’s CEO Norbert Reithofer confirmed this week that they will be working on a new ‘mega city car’.

This new car will have a whole new look and two powertrains. One of the cars will be given motivation with the help of standard combustion and the other one will be completely electric. The electric car will of course meet all of the requirements with the California mandate that must be set up and met by 2012. This mandate requires that it be a fuel cell or battery powered car that can travel up to 200 on one single charge.
