BMW '6 Series'

2007 BMW X5Over 29,250 2006-2007 5-series, 6-series, and X5 SUV’s are being recalled by BMW. The vehicles have a static electricity problem that causes the V8 engine to stall while on the road.

The problem involves the engine’s electronic control unit, when temperatures are below freezing and humidity is low, according to a NHTSA defect report. Under those conditions, an electrostatic discharge can occur at pipes that deliver fuel to the engine’s injectors, causing the control unit to malfunction.

2008 BMW 6-SeriesWe all had hope that BMW would leave well enough alone and not try to give the 6-Series a makeover, no matter how small it would be. BMW started working on improving the 5-Series and unfortunately has decided to move on to the 6-Series for the 2008 model year. Consumer are curious as to what exactly will make the vehicle better.

The coupe does get slightly more dramatic changes to the rockers, now chunkier, which we think succeeds only in making the car look fatter, and the rear decklid, which reaches farther off the back of the car. In curving up to meet the trailing edge of the plateau, the vertical face of the trunklid grows more concave.

6-SeriesBMW chose to re-design the 6-series and they have finally completed the project. The changes are not over the top, but rather subtle. The new vehicle features a wide air intake and new LED indicators, while out back, the center-mounted brake light has been integrated into the spoiler.

Inside, you’ll find a new iDrive button that is supposedly more ergonomic, along with Sun Reflective Technology that will be standard on the convertible model. Under the sheetmetal, Stop-start technology has been implemented, that coupled with BMW’s newest Efficient Dynamics fuel saving tech and regenerative braking system will increase electrical efficiency.
