BMW RacersBMW’s resolution for 2008 is to win the Grand Prix for the first time. It may seem like a high goal to reach – but if they improve on the team that they built last year than they may have half a chance to succeed and to bring home the win. The director for BMW motorsport – Mario Theissen – stated that, “For 2008 we have set ourselves the target of closing the gap to the leading teams. In addition we intend scoring our first Grand Prix victory.”

One of their top drivers – Nick Heidfeld – believed that the distraction that ensued between Ferrari and Mclaren last year helped them to catch up to both of the top teams. He is hoping that they stir up some more drama – which will help them to sneak up on them without them even noticing.

“It should be an advantage for us that Ferrari and McLaren had to give everything in order to win the title whereas we and Renault were already able to concentrate on the next year,” said Heidfeld. “So theoretically things look pretty good. I also have a good feeling but you cannot always rely on your feeling as I noticed in the past years.”
